Objectives: Teachers will :
        1.  Learn  about the causes of hearing impairments.
        2.  Learn about various listening devices that are used by children.
        3.  Learn strategies to help hearing impaired students.

Materials: Handouts, earplugs, bell, tuning forks, speech banana, hearing aids, poster board.

Order of Presentation:
    1) Hand out earplugs randomly for teachers to wear (causes 30dB hearing loss)
    2) Using various sounds, talk about the different pitch and loudness levels and what causes noise induced hearing loss
    3) Educate about hearing aids and cochlea implants:  what they look like and what they do
    4) Talk about assistive listening devices commonly used with the use of a poster board visual
    5) Suggest strategies teachers can use in the classroom to help students listen more effectively
          ~ brainstorm with teachers to come up with other ideas
    6) Ideas for students about classmates with hearing impairments
