
Alan Sue
California resident ALAN SUE took over both women's and men's golf programs for the 2005-06 season. During the 2007-08 season, Sue led the Pioneer men's golf team to their first ever Cal Pac Conference Championship, a second place finish in the NAIA Regionals, and a seventh place showing in the NAIA Championships. Sue was selected as the Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year. Sue guided the Pioneer women's golf team to a fourth place in the NAIA Region II Championships. The Pioneer women's golf team finished second out of four teams in the Cal State East Bay Invitational. In his first season as head coach, Sue led the Pioneers to a second place finish in the Cal Pac Conference Tournament and a sixth place showing in the NAIA Region II Championship. Sue has been the assistant golf coach at Cal State East Bay the past four years and from 1998-2001 served as the assistant coach at Chabot College. Besides coaching, Sue was also a pro shop assistant at Monarch Bay Golf Club in San Leandro and is currently a merchandiser for the Oakhurst Country Club in Clayton. Sue was an exceptional golfer at U.C. Irvine where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science in 1998. "We're very pleased to have Alan Sue, who is a high caliber competitor from U.C. Irvine as well as having coached at Chabot College and Cal State East Bay," said CSUEB Director of Athletics Debby DeAngelis. "Alan gives Cal State East Bay women's and men's golf programs new leadership." Former Cal State East Bay golf coach Tim Tierney added these comments about Alan Sue. "Alan is a hard working, extremely well organized, and responsible individual with a strong desire to succeed. He is also an excellent player in his own right, and is particularly effective during competition, assisting players with on course management and strategy." Sue is currently working towards his Masters in Kinesiology at Cal State East Bay.
