PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM CAPTURES CAL PAC CONFERENCE SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
A tremendous team performance enabled the Pioneer men's golf team to capture the Cal Pac Conference Spring Championship Tournament on April 26-27. The Pioneers shot a two-round score of 606, one stroke better than Holy Names. Jeff Murphy led the Pioneers with a 4-over-148 good for third place. Bobby Bucey finished in fifth place with a 6-over-150. Sean Callahan (11-over-155 and Jordan Cimino 12-over-156) placed seventh and eighth respectively. Mario Castellanos, who finished in a 14th place tie,sank a clutch putt on the 18th hole to help the Pioneers win the championship. Bobby Bucey won the "Player of the Year" while Jordan Cimino earned an All-Conference award. The Pioneers finished second in the Cal Pac Conference and are hopeful to earn an at large bid in the NAIA Championships.
PIONEER WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES IN SECOND PLACE TIE IN GSAC/CAL PAC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pioneers finished in a second place in the GSAC/Cal Pac Conference Championship on April 24. Cal State East Bay shot a 68-over-356 for the 18-hole tournament. Bianca Matta, Christina Walker and Tracie Glaros all shot a 15-over-87 to finish in an 8th place tie. Restine Paoojino finished 16th with a 23-over-95.
PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM PLACES SEVENTH IN CCAA MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Pioneers finished seventh in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Golf Championships on April 20-21. The Pioneers shot thirty three over par for the three-round tournament. Bobby Bucey shot a 5-over-221 to finish in 18th place. Jeff Murphy finished in a 19th place tie with a 6-over-222. Murphy shot a 2-under-70 in the second round. Jordan Cimino shot an 8-over-224 to finished tied for 23rd place.
PIONEER WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES EIGHTH IN LADY ARGO WEST COAST INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished in eight place in the Lady Argo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame de Namur on April 20-21. Christina Walker and Restine Paoojino each shot a two-round score of 177 to finish in a tie for 33rd place. Walker had a second round score of 85. Bianca Matta finished in a tie for 35th place with a two-round score of 178.
PIONEER WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES 12TH IN LADY OTTER SPRING INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished 12th in the Lady Otter Spring Invitational hosted by CSU-Monterey Bay on March 30-31. Bianca Matta shot a two-round score of 182 to finish tied for 50th place. Christina Walker finished 53rd with a two-round score of 183. Tracie Glaros, Restine Paoojino, and Micalann Cowan recorded scores of 193, 196, and 197 respectively.
PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES FOURTH IN MENLO COLLEGE SPRING TOURNAMENT
The Pioneers finished fourth in the Menlo College Spring Tournament on March 26. The Pioneers shot a 16-over 304 for the 18-hole tournament. Bobby Bucey shot a 2-over 74 to finish in a fifth place tie. Jeff Murphy finished in a ninth place with a 3-over 75. Jordan Cimino shot a 5-over-77 to finish in a 12th place tie.
PIONEERS FINISH FOURTH IN CAL BAPTIST UNIVERSITY MEN'S GOLF SPRING BREAK COLLEGIATE GOLF TOURNAMENT

Jordan Cimino finished in a third place tie as he shot a 3-under 177 for the three rounds. Jeff Murphy shot a 1-under 179 to finish in a sixth place tie. Bobby Bucey shot a 5-over 185 to finish tied for 24th place.
PIONEER WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES NINTH IN CAL BAPTIST SPRING BREAK COLLEGIATE TOURNAMENT
The Pioneers finished ninth with a two-round score of 693 in the Cal Baptist Spring Break Collegiate Golf Tournament on March 14-17.
PIONEERS PLACE SEVENTH IN NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished seventh in the Notre Dame De Namur Invitational on March 9-10. Bobby Bucey shot even par (144) for the two-day Invitational to finish in a third place tie.
PIONEER CAPTURES CAL PAC TOURNAMENT ON MARCH 5
The Pioneers captured the Cal Pac Tournament on March 5. Cal State East Bay shot a two-round score of 581 (+13). Bobby Bucey tied for the individual championship with a two-round score of 142 (even par). Sean Callahan finished fifth at 146 while Jordan Cimino placed sixth with a score of 147 including a one-under-70 in the second round.. Jeff Murphy tied for seventh with a 6-over 148.
PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES SIXTH IN POINT LOMA INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers compiled a three-round score of 902 (30-over-par) to finish sixth in the Point Loma Invitational on March 1-3. Jeff Murphy led the Pioneers with a three-round score of 218 (5-over-par) good for eighth place. Jordan Cimino finished tied for 21st with a 14-over 227. Bobby Bucey finished in a four-way tie for 24th at 15-over 228.
CAL STATE EAST BAY FINISHES SECOND IN CAL PAC TOURNAMENT
The Pioneers finished second in the Cal Pac Tournament on February 26. Cal State East Bay had a two-round score of 613 (45-over-par). Bobby Bucey shot a 7-over-149 to finish in a second place tie. Jeff Murphy finished in fourth place with a two-round score of 150 (8-over-par). Jordan Cimino shot a 14-over-156 to finish in a three-way tie for seventh. Sean Callahan shot an 18-over-par 160 to finish in 12th place.
CAL STATE EAST BAY MEN'S GOLF TEAM OPENS SPRING SEASON WITH THIRD PLACE FINISH AT CSU-SAN MARCOS INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers opened the 2009 Spring campaign with a third place finish at the CSU-San Marcos Invitational on February 9-10. Cal State East Bay shot a two round score of 616, 40 over par. Jordan Cimino shot a 7-over 151 to lead the Pioneers. Cimino finished in 17th place. Bobby Bucey followed in a two-way tie for 18th with an 8-over 152 for the two rounds. Jeff Murphy finished in a five-way for 20th place with a 9-over 153.
CAL STATE EAST BAY WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES THIRD IN CSU-EAST BAY INVITATIONAL
Cal State East Bay finished third in the East Bay Invitational on February 22-24. The Pioneers compiled a two-round score of 707. Bianca Matta led the Pioneers with a ninth place finish. Matta had a two-round score of 169 including an 81 in the second round. Christina Walker shot a two-round score of 176 to finish in 14th place. Micalann Cowan finished in a 17th place tie with a score of 179. Restine Paoojino fired a two-round 183 to place 19th in the Invitational.
PIONEERS PLACE SEVENTH IN HOLY NAMES INVITATIONAL
Cal State East Bay men's golf team took seventh place in the Holy Names Invitational on November 3-4. The Pioneers finished with a two-round score of 589 only seven strokes out of second place. Bobby Bucey led the Pioneers with a two-over 144 including a 71 in the first round. Bucey finished in a sixth place tie. Tony Guerrero was one stroke behind with a three-over 145. Jordan Cimino and Bobby Warren each shot a two-round score of 150.
CAL STATE EAST BAY MEN'S GOLF FINISHES IN 10TH PLACE TIE AT DENNIS ROSE INTERCOLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished in a 10th place tie at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Invitational played in Kohala Coast, Hawaii on October 27-28. Cal State East Bay finished with a two-round score of 601, 25 over par. Bobby Bucey shot a 5-over 149 to finish in a 37th place tie. Jordan Cimino and Sean Callahan tied for 44th place with scores of 151. Tony Guerrero and Bobby Warren each shot 153 to finish in a 49th place tie.
PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES SECOND IN CAL PAC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT/PLACES SIXTH IN SONOMA STATE INVITATIONAL
Cal State East Bay placed second in the Cal Pac Conference Tournament on October 2. Cal State's Bobby Bucey captured the individual title with a 1-under 143 for the two-day tournament. Jordan Cimino finished ninth with an 8-over 152. Kevin MCclain and Sean Callahan both shot 153 to finish in a 10th place tie. On October 19-21 Cal State East Bay finished in a sixth place tie in the Sonoma State Invitational. Bobby Warren shot a 2-under par 214. Warren, who shot 69 in the third round, finished in a ninth place tie for the three rounds. Tony Guerrero also finished in a ninth place tie with a 2-under 214.
PIONEER WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM PLACES FIFTH IN DENNIS ROSE INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished fifth in the Dennis Rose Invitational held in Waikoloa, Hawaii on October 26-28. Bianca Matta finished 22nd shooting a three-round score of 255 including an 81 in the second round. Micalann Cowan shot a three-round 256 to finished 23rd for the Invitational. Cowan shot 80 in the third round. Christina Walker finished 24th with a three-round score of 261.
CAL STATE EAST BAY WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM TAKES 8TH PLACE IN LADY OTTER INVITATIONAL/FINISHES SIXTH IN SONOMA STATE INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished eighth in the CSU-Monterey Bay-Lady Otter Invitational on October 6-7. Bianca Matta shot a two-round score of 176 to finish in a tie for 28th place. Micalann Cowan shot 182 to finish in 37th place. At the Sonoma State Invitational on October 19-21, the Pioneers finished sixth. Micalann Cowan was 27th with a two-round score of 178. Bianca Matta finished at 184 good for 30th place while Christina Walker and Restine Paoojino each shot 187 to finish tied for 31st.
PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES SEVENTH PLACE IN NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Pioneers finished in seventh place in the NAIA Championships May 12-16. The Pioneers were a plus 40 for the four-day tournament. Jeff Murphy led the Pioneers as he finished tied for 23rd with a four round score of 296. Bobby Bucey tied for 35th shooting a 12-over-300. Jordan Cimino and Les Teuteberg tied for 47th with a four-round score of 304, plus 12 for the tournament. Cal State men's golf team stood in sixth place after three rounds of the NAIA Championships. The Pioneers had a three-round score of 891. Jeff Murphy tied for 16th with a three-round score of 221. Bobby Bucey tied for 24th place. The Pioneer men's golf team were in a seventh place tie after two rounds. The Pioneers had a two-round score of 594, plus 18 for the tournament. Bobby Bucey and Jeff Murphy tied for 18th place with two round scores of 147. Murphy shot a 1-over-73 in the second round. Les Teuteberg stood in 48th place with a two-round score of 152. Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished with a nine-over-par 297 in the first round of the NAIA Championships. Leading the Pioneers in the first round was Bobby Bucey who shot a 1-over-par 73. Bucey was 2-under-par on the front nine. Jeff Murphy and Jordan Cimino each shot 74 (2 over) in the first round. Cimino shot a 34 on the back nine. Les Teuteberg finished with a round of 76.
PIONEERS HEADED TO NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS/CAL STATE EAST BAY MEN'S GOLF FINISHES SECOND IN NAIA REGION II CHAMPIONSHIP
Cal State East Bay men's golf team will be competing in the NAIA Championships on May 12-16 in Plymouth, Indiana. The Pioneer men's golf team finished second out of nine teams in the NAIA Region II Championship on April 21-22 at the Terra Lago Golf Course in Indio, CA. Cal State East Bay finished four strokes behind champion Point Loma Nazarene and 31 strokes ahead of third place The Master's College. Jeff Murphy and Les Teuteberg placed second and third respectively in the individual championship and earned All-Region honors. Murphy was one-over for the tournament shooting a three-round score of 217. He shot a 3-under 69 in the first round. Teuteberg finished one stroke behind Murphy with a three-round score of 218. He shot one-under par 71 in the first and third rounds. Bobby Bucey finished in a 10th place tie with a three-round score of 231. Scott Steelman shot a three-round score of 235 to finish 18th while Jordan Cimino shot 240 to finish in 23rd place.
CAL STATE EAST BAY TO COMPETE IN NAIA REGION II CHAMPIONSHIPS/PIONEERS CAPTURE FIRST EVER CAL PAC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pioneer men's golf team will be competing in the NAIA Region II Championships at Pismo Beach on April 19-22. Cal State East Bay finished ninth in Buzzini/Stanislaus Invitational on April 14-15. Jeff Murphy led all Pioneer golfers with a three-round, four-over-par score of 220 (12th-t). Les Teuteberg shot eight-over 224 to finished tied for 23rd place.The Pioneer men's golf team completed a sweep of the season and were Cal Pac Conference champions on April 4 for the first time ever. Les Teuteberg had the best average score, winning "Player of the Year." Also, freshmen Bobby Bucey and Sean Callahan earned "First Team All-Conference" honors. Alan Sue was named Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year.
PIONEERS CAPTURE MENLO TOURNAMENT
The Pioneers finished with a one-round score of 294 to capture the Menlo College Tournament on March 20. The Menlo College Tournament featured five teams from the California Pacific Conference. Cal State's Jeff Murphy won the individual championship with a score of 70. Teammate Les Teuteberg shot a 72 to finish in third. Scott Steelman, Bobby Bucey, and Sean Callahan all shot 76 to finish in a sixth place tie.
PIONEERS FINISH SEVENTH IN CAL LUTHERAN KINGSMEN INVITATIONAL
Cal State East Bay finished seventh in the CLU Kingsmen Invitational on March 17-18. The Pioneers had a three-round score of 954. Les Teuteberg led the Pioneers as he shot a three-round score of 230 to finish in a sixth place tie. Scott Steelman tied for 15th place with a three-round score of 235. Jordan Cimino shot a three-round score of 240 to finish tied for 25th place.
CAL STATE EAST BAY MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES THIRD IN NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished third in the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational on March 10-11. Cal State East Bay had a three-round score of 878 three strokes tournament champion Valdosta State. Cal State's Jeff Murphy finished second overall with an 8-under 208 including a 65 in the second round. Les Teuteberg shot a 4-under 212 to finish in third place. Teuteberg shot a 2-under 70 in the first two rounds. Scott Steelman fired a three-round score of 226 to finished tied for 23rd place.
CAL STATE EAST BAY WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM PLACES FOURTH IN NAIA REGION II CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pioneer women's golf team placed fourth in the NAIA Region II Championship on April 21-22 at the Cypress Ridge Country Club in Arroyo Grande, CA. Cal State East Bay finished with a three round score of 695. Kelly Tilton earned all West Region honors as she shot a three-round 166 to finish in a fourth place tie. Bianca Matta finished in a 16th place tie with a score of 181. Patty Walsh and Christina Walker finished 19th and 21st with scores of 185 and 202.
PIONEER WOMEN GOLFERS FINISH SECOND IN CAL STATE EAST BAY INVITATIONAL
The Pioneers finished second out of four teams in the Cal State East Bay Invitational on February 24-26. Kelly Tilton finished second overall with a two round score of 163. Tilton bested all golfers with a 79 in the second round. Patty Walsh was 12th with a score of 179 while Bianca Matta followed at 182. Christina Walker shot a two-round 189 to finish in 15th place.
PIONEER WOMEN GOLFERS WRAP UP FALL SEASON IN HAWAII
The Fall season for the women's golf team of CSUEB was a season of firsts. The Pioneers played three Freshmen in a tournament for the first time ever. The team was ranked in the top-50 for the first time ever, ending the season at #51 in the NAIA. It was also the first time that the team traveled to Hawaii as they competed in the U. Hawaii-Hilo/Vulcan's Invitational. In Hawaii, the team posted its best team scores of the season (365, 369, and 367). The team was lead in scoring for the Fall season by Freshman Bianca Matta (91.3), Junior Kelly Tilton (92.1), and fourth-year Senior Patty Walsh (94). The Pioneers will begin their Spring season February 17-19, 2008 at CSU San Marcos and will also host a home tournament at Monarch Bay GC in San Leandro on Feb. 24-26, 2008.
CSUEB MEN'S GOLF FINISHES THE FALL SEASON IN THE TOP-20 IN THE NAIA
The Pioneer men's golf team set the bar for future teams. For the first time the program is ranked in the top-15 of the NAIA. The team also swept the first three California Pacific Conference tournaments putting them in first place. The team finished second at the 3rd Annual Eagle Invitational hosted by Concordia (CA), beating University of Victoria (ranked #7th in the NAIA). Junior college transfers, Les Teuteberg (Cabrillo College) and Jeff Murphy (Chabot College), have lead the way for the Pioneers. Teuteberg and Murphy averaged 70.9 and 74.5 respectively for the Fall. Teuteberg is 9 strokes under par through 9 rounds. The team will face an early challenge in the Spring season as they will compete in Oklahoma Christian University's tournament in Arizona, which boasts a field of several top-10 teams in the NAIA.

PIONEER MEN'S GOLF TEAM CAPTURES CAL PAC TOURNAMENT/FINISHES SECOND IN CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY INVITATIONAL
The Pioneer men's golf team shot a score of 302 to capture the Cal Pac Tournament hosted by CSU-Maritime on October 11. Les Teuteberg won the individual title with an even par 72. Teammate Wes Davis tied for second with a round of 74. Bobby Bucey shot a score of 75 to tie for fourth place. Sean Callahan finished in a two-way tie for sixth with a round of 77. Mario Castellanos shot a score of 78 to finish in a two-way tie for eighth. Facing some of the top NAIA West Region teams, the Pioneers placed second in the Concordia University Invitational on October 15-16. The Pioneers finished with a team score of 868, one stroke better than #7 ranked Victoria-BC. Les Teuteberg shot a season-best five-under-par 211 to finish in third place. Jeff Murphy finished in a four-way tie for 10th with a score of 218. The Pioneers will compete in the Cal Pac Tournament hosted by Dominican University on October 18.
