SARA LILLEVAND JUDD

Sara Lillevand Judd returns for her 10TH season as head women's basketball coach at Cal State East Bay. During the last eight years under Judd, the Pioneers have posted an impressive overall record of 143-72 (.665) and conference showing of 94-30 (.758). The 2005-06 Pioneers finished at 18-9 and competed in Cal Pac Conference post-season play for the eighth straight year. Nationally, the Pioneers ranked fifth in offensive rebounds (17.1) and 12th in steals (12.8). During the 2004-05 season, the Pioneers finished with a 17-10 record, the seventh straight year CSUEB had a winning mark. The Pioneers were 13-5 in Cal Pac Conference play. Under Judd, the Pioneer women's basketball team concluded the 2003-04 campaign with a record of 21-6, the second straight season Cal State East Bay won 21 games. Cal State East Bay set a school record with a .778 win percentage. The Pioneers six defeats were to teams which competed in 2003-04 post-season play. Cal State East Bay shot 71.5 percent from the free throw line, also a school record. Judd led the 2001-02 Pioneers to a 17-10 record. The 17 victories equaled the school mark for most wins in a season. During the 2000-01 season, Judd led the Pioneers to a 17-9 overall record and a 12-1 showing in the Cal Pac Conference, breaking two school records for best win percentage in a season (.653) and in conference play (.923). The Pioneers tied another school record with 17 wins in a season. The Pioneers captured the South Division title and fell one game short of going to the NAIA Nationals with an overtime defeat in the Cal Pac Conference championship game. Cal State's success in league play earned Judd Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year recognition.  

From 1999-01, Judd led the Pioneers to a 49-29 record and a 36-7 showing in the Cal Pac Conference. The Pioneers sported one of the top defenses in the Cal Pac allowing their league opponents an average of 47.2 points a game.  

Before arriving at Cal State East Bay, Sara served as an assistant coach for UC Davis during the 1996-97 season, a year which saw the Aggies finish 29-3 and record its first ever Final Four appearance. Sara also served as assistant coach at Wellesley College in Massachusetts from 1991-1995.  

Sara played one season for Tara VanDerveer's Stanford Cardinal before transferring to UC Davis where she was a three-year team captain, graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a Rhodes Scholar candidate. She set all five UC Davis assist records and ranked fourth in all-time steals.  

A four-year prep star at Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland from 1982-86, Sara was named California's (CIF) Scholar-Athlete of the Year during her senior campaign and was inducted into Bishop O'Dowd's Hall of Fame in February of 2000. Sara began her college coaching career as an assistant at Wellesley College in Massachusetts from 1991-95. She received her Master's in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1995.
