Judy Guilkey-Amado, Ed.D. University of San Francisco. Educated at Vassar College and the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Guilkey-Amado had long career in public education in the Vallejo City Unified School District prior to coming to the university. She served as a teacher, principal, coordinator of a variety of federal projects, Director of Professional Development and Director of Elementary Education. For two years she was on loan to the California Department of Education as a Regional Director of Right to Read. Dr. Guilkey-Amado has also been involved in coaching urban school principals and is affiliated with the Coaching Network through the University of California at Berkeley. Her passion is urban education and she is active in organizations that seek to close the achievement gap and promote anti-racist leadership, such as CEBAS, (Creating Equitable Bay Area Schools).
