Partnership
New Haven Unified School District
(Southern Alameda County Team)

The Single Subject Program
The Single Subject (S.S.P.P.) Partnership Program is the Southern Alameda County Team. It is an alternative credentialing option created jointly by California State University East Bay and the New Haven Unified School District (Union City, CA) to prepare Single Subject Credential candidates.

In this program candidates fulfill all program requirements within New Haven USD. Classes are held at James Logan High School. Field experience is in a New Haven, Fremont or Newark middle and high schools. Field experience may be either traditional student teaching or an internship. The program is designed to close the gap between theory and practice and to provide for close articulation of all district, school, and university activities.

The Multiple Subject Program
The partnership program (M.S.P.P.) for preparing candidates for the Multiple Subject credential also delivers all coursework (except Summer Quarter) and field experience within the District. Candidates attend classes at a local school site and complete their field experience within the District.

In these Partnership Programs, credential candidates work closely with a partner teacher or a master teacher for the entire year and participate in all of the orientation activities for new teachers in the district as well as all staff development activities that take place for the regular staff during the year.

Admission Requirements and Process
Ordinary University and Teacher Education admission requirements and processes apply. University financial aid opportunities are available for eligible candidates.
